Even though Great Plains version 6.0 has not been supported for a number of years (you can see specifics on my GP support lifecycle post), there are many companies out there running version 6.0. Questions have come up several times on how to match a version number with a service pack, here is the detailed list:

SP 7 |
6.00g29 |
SP 8 |

SP 9 |

Some notes:
- These versions are for both Dynamics and eEnterprise editions of Great Plains 6.0.
- I do not have information for Service Pack 2 – if anyone has it, please let me know and I will update this list.
- Dexterity and Explorer (renamed to SmartList in later GP versions) were updated independently in version 6.0.
- All the Great Plains service packs listed above are cumulative.
- Links to similar information for other GP versions can be found on my Resources page.
Hi Victoria,
I have a client that has a historical company database that they would like upgraded to GP 2010. This historical company is in a Great Plains 6.0g5 (Pervasive.SQL 2000) environment. I started working with GP at version 7.5 so I am at a loss as to how to get them to GP2010. I searched PartnerSource and was not able to find a migration/upgrade path, migration tools or anything. Do you know the steps that I would need to take to move their existing GP data to a test environment? Any information that you could give me would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Brigitte

Hi Brigitte,
Thanks! Francisco Hillyer has a blog post might be helpful for you: http://gp.rosebizincblogs.com/2011/11/gp-upgrade-path-from-older-systems.html.
I can’t even remember the last time I worked on an upgrade from PSQL, but I seem to recall that Microsoft had a tool that would transfer the data from PSQL to MSSQL. Maybe you can try talking to them to see if they can help with this.

Hi Victoria,
Francisco’s post was a big help. Thank you so much for that.
I contacted Microsoft about the Pervasive to SQL migration tool, but they no longer have it available. I guess I will have to keep looking.
Thanks!

Would you happen to have the system requirements for GP V6.0 client ?

Do you have a link to Dynamics and/or eEnterprise v6.0 code and sp12? I cannot seem to find them anywhere. I may be upgrading a new customer soon and they do not have the CDs. As luck woud have it, v6.0 is the only version missing from my library.
Thank you in advance and thanks for this post!

Jay,
I don’t believe there was ever a download of the code for GP 6.0 online. I would talk to MBS and see if they can send you CDs as well as provide you with service packs. If not, e-mail me and I will see if I can get you copies.
