Often when working with companies using Dynamics GP I come across users struggling to find things, taking significant detours to accomplish their tasks, and many that don’t know the application can do what they need. I also frequently get asked for resources to help learn GP better.
An amazing resource now available is the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Cookbook. Written by Microsoft Dynamics GP MVP Mark Polino, this book is a must have for anyone looking to get more out of Dynamics GP. It’s available in printed and electronic format and is packed full of recipes to help anyone get more out of GP.
Just a small sampling of the wonderful topics in the book:
- Account Rollups – this is a great and often overlooked feature in Dynamics GP, allowing you to look up monthly and yearly totals for groups of accounts quickly.
- SmartLists – there is a whole chapter devoted to getting more out of SmartLists.
- Copying Inventory Items – this is a huge time saver for anyone that has to routinely set up inventory items.
- Personalizing Dynamics GP – a chapter devoted to helping speed up working in GP by personalizing it for each user.
There is a lot more, but you should really get the book and check it out for yourself.
